Head over Heels: Finding A Shoe That Fits For Your Fete

by mia bolaris-forget (Staff Writer)

I am one of those women, perhaps a byproduct of my generation that not only likes heels but is more comfortable in them than out of them. In fact, I find it difficult to walk in flats, and can remember a day when I use to work my 12 hour mall shift in stilettos or go dancing all-night long in 4-inchers. Still, I have a friend, who because of her stature and being taller than her husband has always preferred flats. Yet, on her wedding day, she did wear a small heel. And, that’s not only the norm but the standard protocol. Today especially, there are a variety of simply low-heel styles to suit every foot shape and size, and that help give your figure and your dress a lift. They key is finding a pair that compliments your foot, is comfortable, and that you can walk in, a technique that may require some practice, especially if you’re not use to wearing them.
